Acknowledgment and Risk Acceptance.

The undersigned parent or guardian hereby acknowledges, understands and will accept

Acting for Kids terms and conditions.

I am aware that classes are mostly physical in nature, and there is a possible risk of injuries in a student's participation. I am aware that there will be group exercises, and students will at some point need to depend on each other, therefore,  it is possible for students to unsuccessfully complete a class exercise and other students may be at risk as a result.

I understand that the nature of the classes are active, and I agree to hold Acting for kids and its staff harmless for any legal liability for damages and injuries that may incur as a result of Acting for Kids classes.

I am willing and able to prepare the required attire, which are sneakers, an Acting for Kids uniform T-shirt, and black loose-fitted pants that are easy to move in for classes.

I acknowledge that any changes made to my child's health condition will be mentioned to staff prior to the beginning of classes. I further acknowledge that if my child is ill and may possibly infect our students or teachers, my child will stay home.

I will remind my child not to be disrespectful or disruptive in class, and follow all the rules of the class at all times, and to be active and participate as required. Should there be any negligence created by my child during class that may cause harm to themselves or any other student,  Acting for Kids will not be held accountable.

I will instruct my child to make teachers aware once they start to feel any discomfort,  illness or fatigue or any other possible symptoms that may be affecting them in class.

Media Rights (photographs, videos)

I hereby grant and understand that Acting for Kids reserves the right to use videos and photographs taken in classes, performances, workshops or for any other reasons regarding Acting for kids, to illustrate its promotional material, for all social media platforms, brochures or on Acting for kids website. Photographs or videos may also be shared with other students for educational purposes.  No photos or videos taken have any contractual or commercial value, and students will NOT now, or in the future be compensated for it.

If a student wishes that his or her photos or videos not be shared or appear in any promotional materials,  print or otherwise, they may notify Acting for kids in writing.

Payments and Refunds

All students must pay their tuition fee and registration fee in full in order to hold their spots for classes. Payments are done online via Acting for Kids website only, which is securely processed by Stripe.

Payments are automatically drawn from your account on the 20th day of every month.

Students may withdraw from our program up to two weeks prior to the first class and receive a full refund. Please note that registration fees are non-refundable.

There are no refunds once a student starts our program. However, classes and payments are on a month-to-month basis, so you can't withdraw two weeks prior to your next scheduled payment and receive a full refund.

Government-Mandated Closure

Due to our programs being held at the TDSB facilities, Acting for Kids abides by school rules and regulations.  Programs are scheduled within the school calendar year.

Acting for kids will follow all government or public health mandates. Acting for Kids reserves the right to continue classes in an online format, using video conferencing software. In the event that we conduct online classes, parents will receive ample notice via email, and there will be no refund for online classes.

Inclement Weather

Acting for Kids follows the all-weather closing schedule issued by the government of Canada. No refunds are offered due to weather-related closures.

Makeup Classes

Unfortunately, there are no make-up classes provided due to the nature of our program curriculum. We do our best to do a recap of the previous class for the benefit of absentee students.

Merchandise

No refunds are provided for merchandise purchased on our website. Exchanges only.

Showcase

Acting for Kids holds two performances per year to showcase the improvements and talent of our shining stars.  Usually, performances are held in June and December. Students are not obligated to participate,  but it is highly encouraged so all students have that sense of inclusiveness in a real theater setting as the learning doesn't stop there.

There is a costume rental fee that is TBD per each chosen production.
